Are you looking for a pouch laminator so you can laminate documents, photographs, business cards, and so on? If so, the Fellowes Callisto 95 just might be the machine that’s right for your office. This is one of Fellowes’ new laminators and it has some pretty great features. Here’s an outline of its strengths and weaknesses for you to check out:
The Callisto 95 has a 9.5-inch feed opening that’s wide enough to accommodate letter-sized documents and smaller items like business cards. This makes it a good choice if you don’t think you will need to laminate larger materials.
This machine warms up in just 5 minutes and it can laminate a letter-sized document in about a minute. Technically speaking, you don’t need to use a carrier with this device. However, using one will reduce the risk of a pouch jam occurring.
The Callisto 95 will work with pouches that are 3 and 5 mil thick. The machine has a cold setting so it’s possible to use both thermal and pressure-sensitive pouches. The cold setting should be used when processing items such as photographs.
This laminator is outfitted with HeatGuard technology. This feature helps keep heat inside the device so you can laminate all you want without burning yourself. Also, the machine will shut off automatically so you don’t need to worry about it overheating.
The Callisto 95 is nicely designed and will add a touch of class to any office. The device is quite compact with dimensions of 4.25″ (height) x 17.75″ (width) x 5.75″ (depth). The laminator comes with a carrying handle so it’s easy to move around.
Finally, this laminator comes with a 2-year warranty for your convenience.
This machine cannot handle laminating pouches that are 7 mil or thicker. It also won’t work with mounting boards, so you should keep another machine on-hand if you want to use mounting boards and thick pouches.
As noted above, the Callisto 95’s feed opening is 9.5″ wide. Thus, it might not be a good choice if you need to work with large materials on a regular basis.
Overall, the Callisto 95 is meant for occasional office use. It’s not recommended for heavy-duty use.
As you can see, the Fellowes Callisto 95 has a lot of strengths and it’s recommended if you need a machine for general office use. This laminator has some terrific features such as the cold setting and the HeatGuard technology. Also, the machine is small and nicely designed, plus it comes with a great warranty. However, you need to consider whether you want or need a machine that can handle thicker pouches and mounting boards. If you do, then the Callisto 95 won’t be a good choice. Also, it won’t be a good choice if you want to work with materials that are wider than 9.5″. But if you work with smaller items and are comfortably only using 3 and 5 mil pouches, you might find that the Callisto 95 is the right laminator for your needs. Check it out today.
